Toscana | Riviera TOUR

11th May Sorrento - We'll pick you up from Naples at 1pm for a short drive to our accommodation in Sorrento on the Amalfi coast. Alternatively let us know and we can pick you up from Rome on our way through a few hours earlier.
After settling in and getting the bikes built we can go for a short ride to blow the cob webs out and check out the beautiful coast of the Amalfi.
We can then explore Sorrento and get ourselves up to date with what's happening with the Giro while enjoying a drink before getting to know each other over a welcoming dinner.

12th May Sorrento - We can enjoy another nice ride around the Amalfi coast in the morning. We have the afternoon to check out Positano and/or Pompei. We will have another venue for dinner to enjoy this beautiful part of south Italy for our second and last night.

13th May Mattinata - Today we head across to the east coast of Italy to pick up the final kms of the Giro. We can ride the last part of the course before watching them come through in the final kms while relaxing in an Italian bar near our accommodationin Mattinata. We can enjoy the views of the east coast for a night over dinner and a few drinks.

14th May Blockhaus - Today we will once again ride part of the course up in Abbruzzo starting in the beach town of Pescara, climbing the final ascent of Blockhaus. This will be the first test for both us and the riders in this years Giro. We swap the west and east coast views tonight for accommodation tucked away in the Abbruzzo mountains.

15th May Umbria - Today we head up to Umbria for two nights, it's a rest day in the Giro so for us we have a small transfer and a ride in the morning. Then in the afternoon we can maybe hit a few wineries and/or enjoy the cottage style accomodation we have. For dinner we can sample a few local wines or maybe some we bought along the way.

16th May Umbria - The Giro heads not far from our accommodation in today's time trial stage. Today's stage will have hours of entertainment for us as the riders ride pastat one minute intervals. After a mornings ride we can find a spot on the side of the road for a picnic style lunch while cheering on the riders. Then we can enjoy yet another fantastic Italian meal.

17th May Santa Margherita - Today is all about the sights, it is a no ride day. We depart from our accommodation and head north to Florence, checking out Florence and its sights in the morning before bidding farewell to the riders that start today's stage in the heart of Florence. We then head across to Santa Margherita, get ready to fall in love with this coastal town. We will have plenty of time to check out the sights in the afternoon. We can finish the day with a farewell dinner sharing stories of the last weeks events.

18th May Genoa - It's time to say our goodbyes. If time permits we can go for a short ride or take the time to enjoy this beautiful town before packing up and heading to Genoa airport. Alternatively, hitch a ride to Milan as the Gruppetto Crew head back to HQ in readiness for the second tour.

 

DOLOMITI | ALPS TOUR

20th May Cossato - Picking you up at 10am from Milano Malpensa airport Saturday 20th, we will head to our first nights accommodation in Cossato, Gruppetto's Italian HQ & only 10km from the final climb of today's Giro stage.
We'll meet Mama Rita, get our bikes ready and get to know each other over a typical Italian lunch.
After lunch we'll kit up and ride into Biella and head up Oropa, the final climb of the stage, finding a spot on the side of the road to watch the riders race for overall honors. After watching the Giro hitters battle it out we'll roll back into town for a proper welcoming over a few drinks and some unique Italian cuisine with our Italian famiglia.

21st May Bellagio - Sunday we will head out for a ride on Trents' old training haunts around Cossato before heading to start of todays stage 6km up the road. After lunch we will head to one of the most beautiful parts in the world, Bellagio on Lake Como. After a few drinks overlooking the stunning views and/or catching the last few kms of the giro on tv, we'll enjoy a spectacular dinner on the balcony of our hotel overlooking Lago d'como.

22nd May Bellagio - Monday is a rest day in the Giro for the riders. This gives us a perfect opportunity to do a lap of the left leg of Lake Como before catching the ferry back to Bellagio. Those keen can climb Ghissalo and check out the epic church and museum at the top of this little leg snapper climb. We can enjoy a relaxing afternoon in Bellagio before dinner in a quaint restaurant in the little cobbled streets.

23rd May Bormio - It will be a little earlier start Tuesday morning to get up to Bormio. We will ride up the legendary Stelvio, then watch the riders battle it out on the infamous climb. We then can descend to watch the finish of this epic stage in the comfort of our hotel in Bormio.

24th May Canazei- We leave Bormio and head to Canazei, riding the last part of the stage . After checking into our accommodation feel free to enjoy the spa treatment downstairs or wander the streets of this beautiful town situated at the bottom of the Dolomites.

25th May Canazei -Thursday we head to Passo Pordoi to watch the pros climb this epic climb. We can then ride home the long way via Passo Fedia. In the afternoon we watch the final on tv, take a stroll or head for a well deserved massage.

26th May Conegliano - We will start today's ride in some of the most beautiful terrain in the country. Riding to the final climb of today's stage, Pain Cavallo. After watching the riders tackle this climb we can roll back to our hotel in Conegliano before enjoying one of the best pizzas on offer. This town has a nice vibe & a super cool bar nearby to enjoy a Friday night drink afterwards.

27th May Conegliano - Today we get another chance to ride in this beautiful region. The Giro riders head to Monte Grappa today. In the afternoon we can head into Venice and check the sights out. Save your appetite though, we'll head to a castle for dinner where the local food is incredible and the views unbelievable.

28th May Cossato - We can start the day with a short ride around the Prosecco region before heading to Milano to watch the final stage of the giro. Then back to Mama's in Cossato where we can share stories of the trip over our final meal.

29th May Milan airport - The day has arrived where we must say our goodbyes. The Gruppetto crew will drop you at Milano airport at 11am so you can carry on with your future travel plans.
