Gruppetto Explained!
Gruppetto Cycling Tours was formed from friendship, a real passion for cycling, a love of food and wine & the desire to share some of the worlds best cycling... The name Gruppetto seemed apt for a bunch of guys like us.
The Gruppetto, in cycling terminology, is the name given to the group of cyclists in a road cycling race who form a large group behind the peloton.
"Due to the common interest in survival, the mood in the Gruppetto has a greater sense of camaraderie than in the main peloton. Riders often assist one another with food and drinks despite riding for separate teams. It is sometimes referred to as "the laughing group".

Trent Wilson
Former professional cyclist and self-confessed ‘Dream Liver‘, who now serves as the Director Sportive for GPM-Wilson Racing. Trent, known affectionally as ‘Willo’, has a passion for development of riders based in NSW and to this end was the first individual to establish the only NSW-based National Road Series cycling team. With seven years experience racing as a professional, which included stints in Europe and the US and completing the Giro d’Italia twice, Willo has a wealth of experience and knowledge to share with Grupetto guests
